Room numbers are where a video first showed the rarity on a room panel. Most rooms were reported by one video, so treat them as approximate.

Nova Prism and Genesis Monolith (0.1%)

Every room panel shown in the sources also lists one very rare rock at 0.1%. In the shallow rooms it is Nova Prism. From about the Mythic and Divine rooms (Room 11 to 13) it changes to Genesis Monolith, as both the BemmyBlock and MicoSoup videos show. Both are also sold for Robux as limited stones.

Rarities past Hidden

Videos name more rarities below Hidden, but they disagree on the names and order: one lists Cosmic and Ethereal, the other Forbidden and Unknown. We will add them once a second source agrees.

How rarity changes what you do

  • Rarer rocks sell for far more after cutting, but they also take much longer in a machine, so upgrade machines as you go deeper.
  • Each rarity has its own row of cores in the Index. Completing a row is what gives the permanent Money bonus.
  • You reach a new rarity by breaking deeper floors, which needs more Power.

Questions

What is the rarest rarity in Cut a Rock?

Of the rarities confirmed by two sources, Hidden. Videos show further rarities below it, but their names are not confirmed yet. On any single room panel, the 0.1% Nova Prism or Genesis Monolith is the rarest rock.

Is Epic better than Elite?

Yes. The order is Rare, Elite, Epic, then Legendary.

Where do you find Ancient rocks?

By Room 15: two separate gameplay videos show them there.
